ROMEO & JULIET :
I found a typeface that had an interesting ampersand, which I thought could be a simple yet meaningful way to join the two letters, "r" and "j" so that typographically, the words were intertwined as the star-crossed lovers from dueling families were. The "and" and ampersand are in red to signify the love shared and the blood spilled in this story.
HAMLET:
The idea of breaking the "H" for Hamlet symbolizes the break in his family and relationships. Red is chosen to symbolize the violence and murders that take place within this play.
OTHELLO:
By dividing the letter "O" into two halves, I made one half white and the other half black to represent the racial divide within the story.
